So, you’ve looked at pictures in magazines, checked out kitchen contractors’ websites, maybe even made an idea book? But what exactly is your personal style? Here’s a quick quiz to help you decide.
You get a free vacation. Where do you head?
A. Miami, South Beach.
B. Hiking in Alaska.
C. Disneyworld.

Chicken for dinner, what’s your choice?
A. Hot wings.
B. Grilled.
C. Southern fried chicken.

Thanksgiving, what’s on the menu?
A. Something new - turkey rubbed with siracha.

D? You read Architectural Digest from cover to cover and fresh herbs are usually on your grocery list.
So where do you go from here? Well, if As topped your list, you already know what you want, maybe you have dishes with a Latin flair to display, definitely need a stove with grill top, room to entertain guests while you cook. Your kitchen remodel has SALSA!
B? Your kitchen remodel has to be eco-friendly, if possible use organic materials, and a windowsill for an herb garden would be ideal. Maybe you’ll find some salvaged elements for decor. The kitchen of your dreams feels like your own private cabin in the mountains.
C, types go for family gatherings, kids, grandparents, best friends, the more the merrier. Consider a bigger range, extra space on an island, bigger refrigerator and lots of storage space for platters, crock pots, deep fryers, food processor, maybe even a panini press. Remodeling your kitchen must accommodate your needs and the needs of those you love.
D. Well, the sky’s the limit, whatever your budget can afford and definitely with the gourmet chef in mind. A wine cooler, overhead glass rack, marble counters for pastry, that’s your ideal. You’re not shy when it comes to choosing either French Country or Penthouse Chic, as long as you have room for prep and lots of STYLE.
Your contractor needs your input; don’t be hesitant to bring out the pictures, tile samples, tell him how you actually USE the space and what works for you. When you’re happy, he’s happy. After all, your recommendation to others is his best advertisement.
